Pleasant Run Cleanup at Garfield Park
Join Keep Indianapolis Beautiful and neighbors to help protect and preserve an important natural resource of Indianapolis--Pleasant Run! We will be cleaning Pleasant Run from Pagoda Dr to Raymond St Bridge (0.5 miles) at this location. *It is an expectation for every volunteer at any KIB project to remain respectful of the spaces and neighborhoods we are in as reflected by both our language and actions.
Safety: It’s highly recommend to wear weather-appropriate clothing, long sleeves and pants, and sturdy boots, as we will be working on a steep slope with dense vegetation. Due to the steep terrain, we do not recommend bringing young children to this project. This project is better suited for high-school ages and up. We always recommend bringing a reusable bottle for water but we will have disposable cups available if needed. KIB will provide all supplies, such as litter grabbers, gloves, and trash bags. Waders will be available for those who want to get in the water to help pick up litter.
Parking and Facilities: Parking is available in Garfield Park Ellis Shelter parking lot (2231 S Garfield Drive). Portalettes will be available for use in the park.
Transportation Information: IndyGo Bus #13 stops at Raymond St. & East St. (a 6 minute walk to the project). Click here to plan your trip with IndyGo!

"Welcome to Garfield Park" Neighborhood Mural Painting
Neighbors of any artistic skill level or experience are invited to visit Tube Factory artspace for a community painting day on Saturday, March 15 from 1 to 6 p.m.
With your help, the Garfield Park Neighbors Association, Big Car Collaborative, and Big Car co-founder and creative director Andy Fry will be repainting the “Welcome to Garfield Park” mural to replace the one in need of restoration on the north side of Suding Hardware on Shelby Street.
We are looking for volunteers (10-years-old and up) who are excited about supporting the neighborhood and public art. No previous painting experience is required, just ask and we’ll teach you. There is also a special coloring activity for volunteers under 10.
And, special thanks to the Indy Arts Council for support of this project through the Public Art for Neighborhoods program!
